Golden Fur is an Australian chamber ensemble based in the USA, comprising Samuel Dunscombe (clarinets, electronics), Judith Hamann (cello) and James Rushford (keyboards, viola). Golden Fur is dedicated to the creation of new work by living composers and visual artists, and the presentation of under-represented works from the twentieth and twenty-first century musical underground. Since its inception in 2008, Golden Fur has commissioned twelve works by Australian composers including Natasha Anderson, David Chisholm, Cat Hope and Anthony Pateras, and has given Australian premieres of works by Robert Ashley, Jani Christou, Ana-Maria Avram, Jaap Blonk, Morton Feldman, Alvin Lucier, Jakob Ullmann, Klaus Lang, Olga Neuwirth and Ivan Wyschnegradsky.

Golden Fur and its members have performed at major international venues, series and festivals, including Steim Institute (Amsterdam), Cave 12 (Geneva), WORM (Rotterdam), Soopa (Porto/Lisbon), Tectonics Festival (Glasgow, Tel Aviv), Only Connect Festival (Oslo), Tokyo Experimental Music Festival, Monday Evening Concerts (Los Angeles), Café Oto (London), as well as key Australian festivals including Melbourne International Arts Festival, Dark Mofo, Liquid Architecture, What Is Music? Festival, Adelaide Festival, Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Supersense Festival of the Ecstatic and the Now Now.

Samuel, James and Judith have performed with ensembles including ELISION (UK), Formalist Quartet (US) and Krakow Sinfonietta, and have recordings published by Editions Mego, Pogus, Black Truffle, KYE, Bocian, Saltern/Important Records and Touch. Together, they have recently scored the soundtrack for a new film by Dennis Cooper, and have undertaken collaborative projects with Hans Koch, Toshimaru Nakamura, Marco Fusinato, Jon Rose, Seijiro Murayama, Michael Pisaro and Richard Barrett.
